Karim Hutson serves as the President and CEO of Genesis Companies, a prominent multifamily development firm founded in 2004. With a wealth of experience exceeding 20 years in real estate development, construction, and asset management, Hutson has been instrumental in driving the advancement of sustainable communities and affordable housing initiatives.

Under his stewardship, Genesis has achieved substantial growth, expanding to over 70 employees and completing nearly $2 billion in development activity. Karim's adeptness in finance and investment has been instrumental in the firm's success in establishing and preserving mixed-income and mixed-use communities, with a particular focus on underserved neighborhoods.

Before establishing Genesis, Karim held positions at Goldman Sachs, where he was engaged in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department and General Atlantic Partners, specializing in private equity projects. His notable contributions to the industry have garnered widespread recognition. Beyond his professional commitments, Karim actively participates in various non-profit and civic organizations, including the Center for Appellate Litigation, Harvard Divinity School Dean's Council, NYC Independent Budget Office, Vera Institute of Justice, and the Citizens Budget Commission.

Karim Hutson is an alumnus of Amherst College, where he earned a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy. He furthered his education at Harvard Business School, obtaining an M.B.A., and later pursued a Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) from Harvard Divinity School. His comprehensive background and unwavering dedication to social responsibility solidify his standing as a respected leader within the real estate sector.
